This small series, goes much further than I'll give myself credit for, or will even discuss at this point. Conceptually, it was formed over quite a few months of events, thoughts, writing etc. After 8 months or so, looking at these paintings is pretty funny, not because I think they're juvenile or old, but because the connotations attached to them. Essentially what I was doing in these paintings was creating an elaborate (dare I say, intellectual) way to incorporate some appropriate swear words into my paintings. In a critique sometime last spring I remember somebody mentioning how childish they were and how they reminded that person of a little kid being a "bad boy". As people started defending me and saying how the aesthetic and the concept was mature, I thought these reads were perfect. It made me realize that it was exactly what I was trying to do at that point in my life, and now that 8 months later I'm in a completely different situation I can laugh in a new way.
BITCH, CUNTS, and DICK.
It made me happy.
